Wine & Dine

So I started my Italian dinner series today! It's a series where a person goes to an Italian restaurant and orders a classy dinner for themselves. First you start off with your salad. Then moving along to the appetizer. Later on in the meal you move on to your entree. After that dessert. That only leaves coffee to end the meal and NEVER forget to tip your server. Today I photographed the appetizer, stuffed mushrooms, and the coffee scene. I had a difficult time getting the lighting right, but I think I made out with some good images. Of course a re-shoot is in order after I get feedback from my peers!

PHOTOSHOOT, PHOTOSHOOT, PHOTOSHOOT!

I do not normally take images of people and this was my first time taking photos of men's fashion. I struggled a little bit, but then we found a groove that worked for us. Jonny was a pleasure to work with. Very bubbly personality and knew how to pose very well. We did this shoot just for the fun of it and we had a blast. I enjoy lighting my subjects with dramatic lighting so I have a visible hard shadow due to my side lighting technique. After this photo shoot I will consider taking images of people again!

The EGG-citing Project!

My teacher, Twyla Bloxham, gave the class an assignment to tell a story using five photos. Well I love taking pictures of food so I somehow came up with this comical project of eggs being turned into delicious cupcakes! I know, sounds cruel baking these cute little guys into cupcakes, but I had a lot of fun doing so. I was going for even lighting to make the images look clean. This is why I also used a white background. Maybe I will make more photographs like these using other food groups! This class has definitely challenged my food style.
