March 24, 2018 I got to experience democracy first hand at the March For Our Lives rally. In downtown Dallas thousands of people gathered together to discuss gun control. The march was a symbol of teenage activism against gun violence due to the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Students pushed for gun law reform with the National School Walkout. Get more involved by registering to vote and writing to lawmakers.
Hot Springs, Arkansas was the location of my first camping trip. We thought October would be a good time to go because of the heat of summer in Texas but we were wrong. It was so cold that we had to drink rum to stay warm! A man from a Winnebago that was at the same campsite even came up to us and said he was freezing, AND HE WAS IN THE COMFORT OF HIS OWN CAMPER!
The day wasn't so bad though. We ended up hiking up a mountain (very large hill) and saw a woman and her mother trotting down with their horses! The scenery was beautiful! There was a sea of bright yellow and orange leaves falling from the fall trees.
Camping was a new experience for me that I wouldn’t trade for the world. It was a chance for old friends and new friends to bond over something other than the next social media gossip or the latest Trump fiasco.
I plan on camping more in the near future. Where? That is to be determined.

For those who do not know me I'm not the most athletic person so it's kind of ironic, but this job challenges me to learn more about fitness and health foods! I'm psyched for what's to come in the future!
